Here is a healthy and delicious breakfast idea that looks as great as it tastes! The nice thing about these Instant Pot steel cut oats is you can pretty much set it and forget it while it cooks.
Tip: To save time in the morning, prepare the yogurt mixture the night before and rinse the blueberries and raspberries to reduce prep time.
One my clients back in Dallas had heart problems and her mom would start cooking her steel cut oats several evenings a week on top of the stove. She would cook those oats for hours. Too bad she didn’t have a pressure cooker; she would have saved a lot of time.
Steel cut oats are especially healthy. According to A Tufts University team has discovered that compounds in oats hinder the ability of cholesterol to stick to artery walls, thereby preventing the build-up of plaques that block arteries and endanger heart health.
More studies show that the soluble fiber portion of oats are found beta-glucans, and intake of these unique polysaccharide fibers has been associated with decreased levels of total and LDL cholesterol.

Note: You can toast the oats in the instant pot first if you like. It enhances the flavor of the oats. Just set the Instant Pot to saute, melt a tablespoon of butter, margarine, or coconut oil and stir the oats till they are golden brown.

- Walnuts, almonds, pecans and dried cranberries ( love to add the Great Value brand Omega 3 Trail Mix)
- Toasted pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
- Chopped dates
- Sliced bananas, apples or peaches
- Chia seeds, Flaxseed or sesame seeds
- Peanut butter
- Trail Mix
- Coconut
- Dark chocolate chips

** By the way, you can purchase the less expensive yogurt instead of buying the Greek yogurt. I made my own version of Greek yogurt just by draining off the whey (liquid) that gathers on top of the yogurt in the refrigerator. The more liquid you remove, the creamier it gets.
